Coffin Prop | Scranton Boudoir Photographer

Sometimes as a Scranton boudoir photography, I get wild-hair creative ideas. And this one? A coffin prop!

It was Halloween season, and while I had several spooky shoots under my belt (like this one, this one, and this one!) - I was still craving something new and different. Can you tell I LOVE my creepy+scary sessions!?

Enter: the coffin prop!

My husband, my amazing right-hand-man, stepped up to make this accessory from scratch. He worked tirelessly on it, making sure it looked exactly as I was envisioning it. He included the purple LED lights around the border so I could get the chaotic, spooky vibe.

I reached out to one of my clients who had mentioned wanting a session like this, and we brought it to life together! (You can’t tell me her green hair wasn’t MADE for this session!)

We decided on a sheer black bodysuit for her outfit. I loved the shoulder cut-out element & bat appliqué. It accentuated all of her curves while keeping to the theme of the session.

I decided to work with lights and prisms to create a bit of a “haunted house” type effect. I wanted it to feel like a club dance floor at 2am, but spooky.

I took her through my normal posing workflow, but we made sure to incorporate the set into it as well. From leaning against the coffin to literally stepping inside of it. Any session I do, I love to make sure I’m staying present in the moment and creating authentically with you (while also using all the posing tips & tricks I have up my sleeve as a professional photographer :)

This photo session with a coffin prop was a collaborative effort, and I think the best artists endeavors always are. So grateful to my client and my husband for bringing this to life for me!
