Marilyn Monroe Inspired | Scranton Boudoir Photographer

When Miss H said she wanted to do a Marilyn Monroe inspired session, I knew we were going to create some beautiful work together. But that wasn’t the only reason this session was special.

I have found, as a Scranton boudoir photographer, that often my clients come to me in transition of life. Maybe it’s bringing life into the world with a maternity boudoir session. Or maybe it’s a change in jobs. Or, as in this case, a loss.

I was so sad to hear that Miss H’s husband had passed away prior to booking her session. Her life had been turned upside down, and in the transition she was reaching for her sense of self again. When she heard her niece had booked a shoot with us, she knew it was the next right thing for her.

Miss H inquired about her Marilyn Monroe inspired session (forever inspired by Marilyn!) and we were so excited to welcome her into the studio for a healing and cathartic experience of finding herself again.

Miss H requested a burlesque vintage boudoir experience, and our vintage glam studio was right up her alley. She borrowed a pearl floor-length sheer dress from our client closet, and it was the perfect vibe for her day. She looked AMAZING in it!!

She arrived at our Scranton boudoir studio and got hair and makeup glam! It was such a good pampering session for her! And then we got to shooting! You’ll have to make sure you scroll all the way to the end because she killed it at her session!

When I asked her about the experience afterwards, this is what she had to say:

I’m very self-conscious of my body. I haven’t liked many photos of myself in the past. During the photos, I felt so beautiful and confident.

I see myself through different eyes now. I’m more confident in my body and how I look.

But get this - our Marilyn Monroe inspired session did not go off without a hitch! Nope! The unexpected happened when the power went out across the city! Yikes!

Luckily, Miss H was so flexible and adaptable - and we still made beautiful images together! Just goes to show: we pride ourselves in making the best experience regardless of circumstances! We did whatever we could to continue her session and still deliver a top-notch boudoir experience for this amazing woman.
